#6: Redesigned Website

GCN's website has not had a major redesign in several years. In that time, we've grown considerably. As a result, first-time visitors to our website often find it overwhelming and confusing. Even seasoned members are sometimes surprised to discover features of the site they didn't know existed.

GCN's new website will be undergoing an overhaul of its design, navigation, and programming. We want to add new features, but more importantly, we want to make the existing features easier to use and the whole website easier to understand.

Just a few of the many changes we anticipate are:
· A cleaner, more streamlined look;
· Better menus and site layout;
· Scaling for larger windows and screens;
· Improved search functionality;
· A simplified message board interface that doesn't overwhelm new members with so many forums;
· More features and publicity for special groups, including better homepages, chats, and notifications;
· Improvements to the private messaging system, such as preventing old messages from being bumped back up when deleted by someone else;
· Special information sections for parents, pastors, students, and more;
· Connections to social networking sites and other social networking features;
· More control over your account;
· And lots more.
