Looking for other Christians who know what you’re going through?
Tired of oversimplified arguments on both sides that treat Christians and LGBTQ people as enemies?
We get it. Our team at Nuance Ministries has been through it all, and in building this site, we’ve consulted with ministers and parents, affirming Christians and non-affirming Christians. Many of us are LGBTQ Christians ourselves, and we know how important it is to get this right.
Here’s what you’ll find here…
Churches and communities.
Looking for Christian communities that welcome LGBTQ people? Well, we’ve spent years manually compiling a database of nearly 10,000 welcoming churches and Christian communities from across the U.S., manually updating outdated information from other online listings, and contacting them to ask them to create profiles to tell you even more about themselves. And we’re just getting started.
Want to find a local church or social activity? Search our database!
Want to stream sermons or watch a service from home? We shuffle thousands of options to give you new choices each day!
Want to start a Bible study or Christian social group in your area? Post it here for others to find!
Online community and support.
How about connecting virtually? Our community database includes links to online welcoming Christian communities as well, and we’re hoping you’ll help us find even more.
We’ve also built our own private, invitation-only online Christian community for those seeking to go deeper in their faith. (Think you’re a good candidate? Let us know.)
Answers to your questions.
We’ve been collecting your questions on issues from coming out to Bible interpretation. And in the Answers section, we’re bringing you answers from Christian experts on these subjects.
We’re kicking things off with an assortment of common questions, and we’ll be adding more questions, experts, and perspectives throughout the year. No AI-written answers or internet trolls here; these are all thoughtful responses from real people—followed by links to more in-depth analysis.
Don’t see your question? Ask it, and we’ll add it to the list to be answered in future updates.
Recommended resources.
Need a book to give your non-affirming parents? Want to better understand a friend who’s come out? Struggling with questions in your own faith?
We’ve consulted with Christian leaders to find the most helpful books, videos, podcasts, websites, and other resources for your situation.
And we’ll be adding more resources and more ways to filter and search them over time.
Daily Bible study.
Want to know the Bible better? Throughout 2026, Torn author Justin Lee will be leading a video Bible study of the New Testament, one chapter a day, Monday through Friday.
Find the current day’s video posted here, or click through to the full series and start from day one.
And there’s more to come.
What’s still coming?
While we’re in beta, we’ll be continuing to work on design elements and navigation to make things run as smoothly as possible on a variety of devices as well as squashing any bugs you may encounter. (Please let us know about them!)
We’re also going to continue building our resource database and community database, including contacting churches and communities to ask them to fill out their profiles and make their pages even more useful.
Eventually, we hope to expand the community database beyond just the U.S., though it will take some time.
We’ll be adding more questions and answers to our answer database, including adding more experts and details to existing questions and adding new questions as they’re submitted.
And we’ve got more surprises planned for down the road as well.
Why GayChristian.Net?
This web address has a lot of history for LGBTQ Christians. It was an online resource center in the 90s, then for sixteen years, it was the home of The Gay Christian Network (GCN), an organization that helped network LGBTQ Christians around the world, named before the term “LGBTQ” was in widespread use.
Like those earlier versions, our mission is to take a Christ-first approach to LGBTQ issues, offering community and support to those who need it while allowing for disagreement and nuance on difficult topics.
Thank you for being part of our beta project and helping us continue to build this resource into something even greater.
